Default driver's side vent always on

Hi all-

Tried going through search, but can't find specific info. We have a 2004 LE - regardless of what I set the air to blow to (lower/upper), the driver's side vent is always on. The center and passenger vents work correctly, in that if I change the direction to the lower setting (towards feet), the air cuts off. My understanding is turning the **** will trigger some motor to move dampers and such to turn/redirect the air flow to the appropriate section. I assume the motor, or whatever does it, is broken or stuck in a single position (up towards body). Can anyone point me to wiki, youtube, or schematic of where this is located and/or the part #? Would be much appreciated, thanks.

There is a side vent damper for each side vent. The side vents branch off the center vent which is a different vent then the defrost vent.

Search under side vent damper motor, year and model of car. The servo motor may be bad or the rod that connects the motor to the vent flapper fell off.

The car is generation 6 and 2002 to 2006, thus info for any of these years should apply. Toyota has used the same vent system for a long time thus any info on Camry may help.
