Pad and Shoe Material ?
Hello, it looks like my (US Made) 2004 Camry 4 Cylinder LE has front disc and rear drum brakes. I'll need pads for the front and perhaps shoes for the back. Should I match materials (e.g. ceramic or semi-metallic) for both the front and back ? Also, would you all recommend going with ceramic or semi-metallic ? On Rock Auto at least, I don't see much of a price difference.
The opinion is no need to match front PAD and rear brake SHOE material.
Ceramic is best, semi-metallic next best.

Right front caliper had seized up and worn down the brake pad almost to the metal. And I had no idea until I heard grinding, only on hard braking, about 20-30 miles ago. I thought the car would have pulled to one side w/a seized caliper but unfortunately the car drove just fine the whole time.
