Where to Find Replacement Transaxle?
#2
A few suggestions:
Are you able to hold the crank pulley to prevent rotation when trying to loosen the bolt?
If so, get a 1/2 inch drive 19 mm socket. Go to Harbor Freight and get their 3/4 inch breaker bar plus a 3/4 to 1/2 inch reducer. Attach the tools and use a long cheater pipe to rotate bar and bolt.
Or
Attach a 1/2 drive breaker bar/socket to the bolt. Locate the end of the bar where it will bind up with the floor or chassis when the crank pulley is rotated.
Unplug the cars ign system! You don't want the engine to be able to start!
Bump the starter with ign key. This will rotate engine and with crank bolt locked by the socket/breaker bar perhaps break it free. This does work but no guarantee the bar or socket may may not break.
Or get an impact tool although this does not always work.
If you are still looking for a trans.
Determine what model trans it is. There should be a sticker on the side of the driver's door. Should be an A140E. Auto salvage yards are linked by the internet. The internet has websites allowing posting of the part your trying to find to sites auto salvage yards monitor.
Post the cars year, engine type and trans type.
Your trans will have different gearing then ones for a later model engine 5S-FE.
Search ebay for trans and Craigslist for car being parted out.
