1996 Central Locking (12v Supply Constant)
Wrote a Long Post but Something Glitched and it didnt send.. So I dont really have the Energy to write it again.
Hi, Im 18 Just recently got my License Live in Victoria Australia and own a Toyota Camry 1996 Model. I dont know much or anything about cars, but what I do know are electronics. As I am studing to be an Electrician of sorts.
I have Central Locking is my Car but not Remote Central Locking and was wondering if someone here would be able to help me out in Connecting this Cheap device I found on ebay up to my Car to then have Remote Central Locking.
I assume what I have to do it find the two wires which make the Car doors Lock and Unlock Check, and then connect a separate wire to those two wires keeping the switch intact and then having two new wires which when connected also lock and unlock the doors.
Does that sound right?
I think from then all I need to do is find a 12 Supply to power the Remote Locking System... Which is where you guys come in. I was only just recently was told that pretty much anything Metal on a Car can count as a Negative Terminal, so I guess im half way there.
Also do you think that a Relay would be required? Can the power from a car be high enough that it could ruin the electronics of the device?
I guess I could be Bothered writing it again
