2004 Camry Keyless entry and alarm.
I just read an article in another forum that stated on a '03 Tacoma w/ keyless entry you could activate the full alarm system by unplugging a specific wire on a wiring harness. I was wondering if this would work on the Camry. I have an '04 Camry SE with the keyless entry and remote start. Also the car has the chip ignition key. We didn't get the full alarm because the dealer said that no one could start the car with out the chip key anyway. I just wanted to know if the mod would work on the Camry. Any help??
I'm a newbie to this site and haven't looked around too much yet, but will in the future.
Thanks to all in advance.

From an article on CustomTacos (http://www.customtacos.com/tech/inde...x_v2&id=12&c=6) they stated that when Toyota puts their keyless entry system in a car it is an alarm system also or is all one type of unit. As the link states, you disconnect one wire and the alarm side of the unit is activated, without the glass break sensor or system activation led. Those, by the article can be added.
I was just wondering if this will work on the '04 Camry. They state that it would work on '03 trucks and others said it worked on the '04s also. So with that, I was just wordering if it would work on an '04 Camry system with the chip key. I believe that the remote start is an aftermarket item so just because it's on the same remote control that doesn't mean that the alarm system couldn't be changed.
Again, any help would be appreciated.
