99 Camry keyless Entry.. Remote programming??
I just purchased a 99 Camry LE that has the "dealer/port" installed keyless entry. I picked up a remote off Ebay (2 button remote that's kinda shaped like a football). From my research this is suppose to be the right one. Any, I found what I thought was the program for it, which was as follows, this was taken off another Toyota site ., " 1. Insert key into ignition, turn it to on(not acc)
2. On your ECU unit, gently push the button with the
tip of a paper clip, pen, etc, for about 3 seconds until the light on
the TOYOTA SECURITY panel lights up. You now have about 30 seconds to
press the button on your new remote once) to tell the car to
recognize it.
3. remove key from ignition
4. step out of car and test your remote
I have looked all over for a "button" on the ECU. Didn't find one.The main control unit is located down near the brake lever attached to the cruise control unit. I even took the "Main Control unit' out of the car and looked at it. I'm assumming that this is the same as the ECU, it's just called the MCU. The #'s on it are as follows, 00014-SO200. The #'s on my remote are BAB237131-00 . I still have NO clue how to program this thing. Does anyone out there know the correct programming for this? Any help is much appreciated.

a lot of ECU's are located on the floor under the driver seat, if there is one there, it should have a button. if not, you can use a satalite location, like behind the mirror switch. with key out, pop it off (mirror switch )and unplug the switch from the harness. stick a jumper wire in port 2 and 10 and hit the button the remote, the doors should lock. i must do this for all remotes you plan to program with jumper in. ive attached a pic, hopefully it goes through.
