Hi I recently bought 94 Camry V6 XLE, which has an alarm installed. I don't know if its factory fitted? There is a small on/off siwtch near the parking brake and hood latch. The person I bought did not told me how to off the alarm if it goes on.

Once I mistakenly switched off this switch and later turned it on and after some time when I entered the car, alarm went on, car would not start. After 20 minutes of struggle, inserting key turning ignition on, changing alarm switch between on and off, I managed to off the alarm.Same thing happened again during oil change when battery was reconnected after examination and this time I spent 30 minutes. The mechanic also did not know to off the alarm.

Can anybody tell me the steps to off the alarm when it goes on?

 

itsounds likeyou have an aftermarket alarm...take it to a local stereo shop.. they should be able to help...with my aftermarket alarm...the way i turn it off manualy is....turn the key on engine not running turn the tuggle switch off and the alarm LED will light solid...

 

any alarm has a manual switch to turn off the alarm. Put your ignition key into "on" then turn off the alarm using the switch.
