k so i bought my 94 camry DX yesterday and i noticed that the cigarette lighter wont work, i checked the fuse and it looked ok, but im still gonna replace it 2morrow but im pretty sure it wont do anything.

i also noticed that the previous owner tried to install a 3 outlet cigarette lighter where the passengers feet go

i tried all those outlets but none of them work

there are 2 wires sticking out of the 3 outlet thing but i dunno what to do with them
i will look at it more 2morrow to see if it is connected to anything

but what else would i have to do to possibly get this working again?

 

does the 94 camry have two power outlets? Cig+1?

Is the fuse you found inside of the car or outside of the car?

the two wires sticking out of the 3 outlet thing would probably be the wires that connect to the car battery or it was severed from the original cigaret lighter attachment head. Never use those outlet expanders without a proper fuse that is equal to or smaller than that of the cig fuse.

and as far as i know it only has one cig lighter

its aftermarket so its up to you. if you aren't familiar with electrical ur better off removing the thing...the wire may have been cut for a good reason.

 

well i know the basics about electrics, and cig lighters are very useful to me so i would like to find someone who could do it for me, i might know some poeple.

As for the problem now, i replaced the fuse today but still nothing. I also think i probably broke it, cause when i replaced the fuse i pushed my car charger into the outlet and when i pulled it out the whole outlet came out with it and thats probablly bad, so i pushed it back in and i think i pushed it farther in then it was before so its probably pretty screwed up now

so i guess i can just find someone to install the other one, thanks for your help

 

haha nah that happens with older cars but im thinking the connection got severed a long time ago. you can pull out the surrounding trim and remove the cig lighter and see if there are even wires still attached to the thing.
