99 Camry just noticed the "D" lite on the cluster is not lit up when in drive, as i was banging things in came on and then went off a few min later. are these individual bulbs behind cluster or is there a contact switch on the shift counsel?

 

The contact switch would be on the transmission mounted behind the shift lever.

The bulbs are individual type, twist to lock in.

Might be a poor connection where the bulb mounts.

The gauge cluster needs to be removed to access the back.
