Default Dang 02 sensor code

Hi gang, I got the dreaded P0135 Heated O2 sensor code (Bank 1 Sensor 1), then replaced the sensor. Seems simple enough. After clearing the code, 2 drives later the code returned. Voltage and Ohm tests on the first one failed to indicate a problem, but I replaced it with a new one anyhow.

Do I have gremlins? Could there be another explanation that's tripping this code? This car doesn't get driven all that much...could that somehow contribute?

Specs: '97 Camry LE, 69K miles, originally from California.

Thanks!
-Alan

Hmmm, maybe I've got the wrong piece. Here's a pic of what the part I replaced looks like:

One end screws into the forward-most exhaust manifold (V6) and the other end clips into a wiring harness located about the middle of the engine bay....nowhere near the firewall. If this isn't the correct part/piece, then that'd explain alot, lol.

The Hayne's manual shows models of diffo engines & years other than my own which adds confusion. Please advise. Thanks!

both main o2 sensor are located on the exhaust manifolds...the o2 sensor you want to test and replace is the manifold and 02 sensor closes to the firewall.

Ahh, got it now. Sure enough, I had replaced the wrong sensor. Swapped out the baddie and all is now well. Thanks!
