I'm getting Check Engine Light code P0705 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input) on my Toytota Camry XLE '1997. Any ideas how I can fix this?

The Toyota parts man can't even find a transmission range sensor in his online parts look up, and the Toyota transmission service guy can't find the code P07050 in their online manual and he says he hasn't changed a transmission range sensor on a Camry in 15 years. What gives?
