Default Fans stay on

I have 2008 Camry This morning as I was starting car, the fans came on and stayed on even when I took out the key.The only way I could stop them was to remove the battery cable. When i connect the battery again the fans start up again, with no key in ignition Any ideas why?

What engine, V6 or 4-cylinder? Automatic or manual climate controls?

If 4-cylinder, check the Fan No 1 relay for sticking closed. Location is in a relay/fuse box driver side, engine compartment. Look below AM2 fuse for 3 relays. Fan No 1 is first relay.

Yes it is a 4 cylinder, manual climate controls ,I pulled out all 3 relays out and left them out and hooked the battery up and fan still going full blast, could this be short somewhere?

These are the radiator fans? You removed the relays labeled Fan No 1 thru No 3?

The link below has a wiring diagram. CO-5.

http://laser-bulat.ru/files/solara/p...%20Cooling.pdf

Are the fans both turning in the same direction? At high or low speed?

Find the wiring connection to each fan. Disconnect one fan at a time and see if other still run.

Remove IG1 relay and see what happens.
