first engine light, then brake light warning

I have a 1999 camry. The engine light was on for 2 years without a problem. Now it is no longer on. Instead the brake light is on. Disappearance and appearance of both lights happened at the same time. Any idea?

The brake light for the emergency brake? Check the brake fluid.

check engine light typically covers engine and emissions issues.
