Default Intermittent starting issues

Hello Toyota people,

1991 Camry. Runs great. I have been experiencing this likely simple problem for a number of months. Car starts and drives but when you turn it off and get ready to start it again, after going to the store, whatever, the accessory lights come on, but the ignition switch does nothing in the start position. No clicks, no nothing. If I pull the key out and wait 5 minutes, the car starts as normal and this behavior is random, not easily replicated.
I did spark plugs, wires distributor cap, rotor all this Summer, but this phenomenon continues. Any ideas?

If an automatic trans, it could be a bad park/neutral switch. When the problem occurs, try shifting to neutral which has another switch.

If no change, try jumping the ign switch terminal on the starter solenoid with 12v. Make sure the emergency brake is on and trans in park or not in gear.

Thanks. That is a great suggestion. I will try that out once it does it again. Bit is an automatic.
