my speedometer isnt working right

my speedometer works sometime and bounces sometimes and sometimes it dont work anyone might know the reason

Might check the speed sensor on the transmission diff housing and wiring going to it.

Normally the Speed Sensor the is located in on top of the transmission sends a signal to the speedometer AND the odometer.

So, if the odometer is still rolling just fine when the needle is going bonkers, it's probably your gauge.

But, if the odometer is clowning around with the speedometer, it could be the Speed Sensor.

However, I bad Speed Sensor is NORMALLY accompanied with a CEL (check engine light). Most auto stores will pull your codes for free. Just ask.
