Is the remote a Toyota brand?

Do you still have owners manual as remote should be able to be programmed.

When trunk release is pushed, any noise from the trunk lock?

remote is genuine toyota brand

looking for two remotes not buttons as in first post (typo)

looks like this type http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...uff/remote.jpg

only supplied one remote when bought from s/hand car yard

no owners handbook in car when purchased......

the boot push button on remote circuit board is missing .... broken off by looks
the door button is there ..just no rubber covers

its a problem looming ..
so it would give piece of mind if it could be sorted

before it gets hard to find the right part

Altise is an Australian version of Camry. Sometimes there is more then just a name change thus your remote may be different then US Camry.

The dealer would sell remotes. Try Ebay US and Australia. Search under Altise as remote may be different from Camry. If looking on Ebay make sure the sale is for a complete remote not just replacement buttons.

There are a number of remote designs having more buttons which are used for US cars, get the one for your car.

For programming try the procedure in the link below:

How to Program a Toyota Camry Remote | eHow

Can also inquiry at Australia Camry club below:

Toyota Owners Club AU | Australia's Largest Toyota Forum for Corolla, Aurion and more

As to the missing button for the trunk. Look at the area of the button and determine if there is a small push button switch on the circuit board. The larger missing button pushing against the smaller button on the board. If so try pressing the small button and determine if the truck unlocks. You should feel some movement and a slight snap when pressing the button. If the trunk does not unlock it could be the remote is OK but the trunk unlocking system is not.

so its a keyless entry remote i am chasing ... oh dear

tried ebay AU and no go only one is for a 2001 camry $55

the button on the circuit board for the boot is missing on this remote

boot mechanisim is intact so should work ok

tried to contact toyota dealer in own city but no reply as yet

you see my problem i guess
my thinking is toyota australia no longer carry the part because of age of car
