I am looking to replace the climate control panel lights on our Camry. Does anyone know how to do this?

Do I have to take the climate contol panel and replace the bulbs via the back? I have attached pictures below. Where exactly are the bulbs located?

see the round blueish thing..those are the bulbs they should just twist off a quarter turn..just take is whole part to the dealer and tell them you want to replace the bulbs..

Thanks for post. I am actually having a problem removing the climate control panel. The instructions I got from camrymanuals.com (now deceased ) mention screws that you undo from underneath on the dash. I cannot see any screws - any ideas?

i not 100%, but i don't remember any screws, just clips

 

wow you made that look easy. I had burnt out bulbs behind my climate controls and shift selector. Dealership charged me $250 for parts and labor, But on the other hand I can see everything better now at night time.

 

oh geez a whooing 250 bucks for that? My climate control lights keep shutting off in my car as well and im thinking of replacing the bulbs myself. I guess I'm just lazy and i havent found the time to do it just yet.

 

I just replaced mine today. This is for the base model 3-**** version. This is for the outside of the dial lights, the center lights are another story that I have not needed to mess with. The pictures on the post above show what the panel looks like when removed, but does not describe how to get it off. Here is how I did it. First, a screwdriver is a bad idea because you will damage the colored plastic cover and the soft dash material around it - so don't use a screwdriver. Also, a screwdriver would not work in my case anyway.
I made a tool from a thin flat piece of metal and bent the end at about 90 degrees about 3/4" from the end so I had something that could be used to pull the panel straight out. I started at the lowerleft, slid the end of the metal thru the gap between the panel and dash so it was behind the panel and pulled straight out. I thought that the pictures showed tabs at the top that would require that I pull at the bottom, but that is not the case, the tabs at top are for alighnment. I did not pull at the top of the panel though, just on theleft curved side near the bottom. It took some force, but the panel popped loose on the left and the right was easy after that.The yellow plastic retainers stayed in place except one and I had to fish it out frominside the dash - this was the hardest part of the job. The two wiring harnesses have retainer clips with releases on the top - easy to take loose. The two bulbs that canbe replaced are blue and CCW 1/4 turn and they come out. New ones are about $9 each at dealer. Reassembly is easy.
It is amazing to me how easy this car is to work on if you know the tricks. Good luck.

 

Wow, I have been looking for this for a while. My dealer says they will not replace the lights, and I should take it to a mechanic.
