Smog tech said “ not ready”
Hello, thank u for taking time to read this post, anyways I went to get my 2001 Camry smog last week and the smog tech Said that he was getting the message “not ready” and that all I needed to do was drive my car fro about 100 miles in order for the car to be smoged ( I did replace a the battery), I drove the car for about 150 miles, brought it back and it still indicates “ not ready”.
anyone have any idea why? Could it be something else that I’m over looking. Thanks again and God bless.

You are doing everything correctly. Keep driving it some more, that's the only way to get your car's emissions system to "become ready." You can borrow an OBD2 reader from Autozone that will let you know if your vehicle is ready before taking it to be smogged. Or borrow one from a friend.

If you, try to determine what checks are not complete. Each check requires its own driving pattern (test cycle) to clear. Someone with a decent OBDII scanner can do this or a smog station if they are up to it.
Searching the internet for "2001 Camry not ready" will result in hits with suggestion. However as stated each check required driving pattern is different.
Some checks require the gas tank fuel level to be between 1/4 and 3/4 full to start the test.
Its not just miles but engine starts or better stated trips involving turn the engine on driving then off then on again and driving.
