Is there an update

Default Is there an update

I have 2012 Toyota camry se.... (Sport) and was wondering if any knows if there's is a software update... My cousin bought a 2012 Mazda 3 and apparently they just had a software update for that car from the manufacturer and got me thinking if Toyota had one.. Does anyone know???? Thanks!!

If Toyota has updates, they only do them if a customer complains about a specific issue the update might fix. The fix is safety issue (recall) or Toyota is doing a goodwill campaign to make customers happy.

Below is a service bulletin dealing with the trans on 4 cylinders.

If you have a 4 cylinder and are experiencing harsh up and down shifts check it out. Note the part of checking for a sticker to determine if the update was done.

The trans is electronically controlled via the computer software.

If going this route don't mention the TSB. Work backwards. State the trans shifts harsh and it really bugs you. That when this happened in the past on new Toyota cars your friends owned there was often some kind of computer fix that solved the problem.
