Default 1995 Camry XLE 3.0l v6 check engine. Loss of accel power

Hey I just bought this Camry about a month and a half ago and it runs spectacularly. But recently (within the past couple weeks) I've noticed a bit of loss of accelerating power and the check engine light came on. Checked my plugs and they're not wonderful but they're not bad enough to cause such a sudden loss of power. And being a 95 it's not OBDII and I don't know anyone with a code reader that will work on it. I feel like it sounds a little different now too, not exactly a knocking, but a bit of fast clicking (not super loud, but noticeable to me). Anyway, any ideas on what preventative maintenance I can do to restore it's acceleration and keep it tip top shape? (Post was longer than intended, my apologies). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The V6 is partly compliant with ODBII. Try using a code reader.

Work on getting those codes first.

I had the same problem. After you get your ODB code... you might want to look at 2 things. Speed sensor (probably needs replacing) and (I had too) change a fuel injector. Give that a try. Let me know if that helps.
