91 Camry Tranny Leak

Default 91 Camry Tranny Leak

I dont know where this tranny leak is. Its a 91 Camry leaks out red fluid. Any idea? Thanks

could be from anywhere. I little transfluid leaking always looks like a lot more than what it is. I assume you have a lot of miles on this car. what does the dipstick say? I belive that this car also has a seperate trans axle that has its own reservoir of fluid. If that is leaking it could be big trouble soon. I would check that trough the site plug and if that is ok then I would just keep an eye on the tranny to make sure the fluid does not get too low.

Look for leaks on each side of the trans under the area where each axle goes into the diff housing.

If this is where you leak is as 93camryxle states, if the diff has a separate reservoir check the fluid level. With a leak it can run dry, the result is major damage to the diff gears and most likely a trans replacement. The case has replaceable seals.

Also check the power steering system, the system uses the same red trans fluid.

Mine was doing the same thing and my friend replaced the seal, turns out its something further inside & i have to take out the whole front end to get to it
