Default engine removal balance

Removing 3VZ tomorrow with transmission 96 vienta. The hook points are off centred over the engine. Is that to centre the weight when removing the engine only or is it okay to use the same points when removing engine and box as one unit or should I attach a third point to the gearbox.
The car is being scrapped so I cut off the axles (quicker and allows me to move it). Do I need to remove the axles to seperate the auto transmission after I pull it out?

Don't know.

It is typical (and much easier) to keep the trans and engine together until out, both are lifted at the engine. If the lift points are set right the trans will balance the weight of the block. You can try lifting the unit from the hook points and determine what happens.

You don't need to remove the axle to separate the trans.

Ta, the lift brackets were good and I had a helper to guide the transmission side up so as to not damage anything.

I agree that you don't need to remove the axle to separate the trans.
