Default Hard Shifting... Is something wrong?

I have a 2008 Camry V6 LE with about 50,000 miles. I bought the vehicle in June '10 with about 42,000 miles. The car runs great and has a lot of power. However, at low speeds the car up-shifts and down-shifts relatively hard with a moderate jerking. My parents own a '97 Camry V6 XLE and a 2000 Camry V6 LE which shift very smoothly.

This issue is starting to get on my nerves and i'm wondering if something needs to be fixed or replaced. If so, it would be nice to know if my power train warranty would cover any work that needs to be done.

I appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

I suggest you review posts and ask at the Toyotanation website, a much larger audience.

Camry had issues of hard shifting, "flare", etc on cars around your year. They issued various service bulletins, some to reprogram the computer, others to replace trans parts.

I don't know if your year/engine type (effects trans model) was included in this.

I suggest you call or visit a dealer with the VIN number and determine if any trans service bulletin's apply to your car. If so, given the VIN number they can also tell if your car had the services stated in the bulletin applied.

If a service bulletin does apply suggest you act on it. Some issues resulted in eventual trans damage if not taken care of.

The folks at the TN site may also know.
