Newbie and I need help!
Hello everyone,
I am new and want to intoduce myself. Well, as you may can tell my car has problems. I have 1993 LE 4 cylinder. My timing belt popped about three weeks ago. When it popped my wife kept tring to crank it but obviously it did not. So after probing around I found the timing belt was broken. Here is my question , what do I need to inspect to see if the addtional crank attemps destroyed the motor? I know that sometimes cranking after the pop will will bend valves and etc. I want to make sure before I waste time opening up a motor that maybe no good anyway.
Thanks.

Nothing, the engine should be OK.
Install a new belt and whatever else you think needs replacing when the front end is apart.
Check the cam, crank and oil pump seals for leakage plus water pump and idle bearings.
When installing the belt get some accurate info as to aligning the cam and crank pulleys. Recheck alignment several times after turning the crank 2 times CW by hand. You don't want to be off on the alignment.
