I know this is an older thread but I just came up with the exact same problem. my camry is the 2003 I'm starting saturday started pulsing while accelerating. There are no noises at all. Just when you try to accelerate the engine pulses ... the rpms drop slightly every ¼ second or so... if it were an extreme worst case scenario the car would be bucking. Any advise would be helpful...
Could it possibly be a catalytic converter?
