Hello All, 04 4cyl 200K This happened twice. Starts right up at home, Temp 70, I run a short errand and then the car wouldn't start. Lights, radio, wipers, etc all worked fine. I removed the key, checked shifter and tried again. I did this 5-8 times, nothing. I have electricity, battery tested good, and I think I hear the fuel pump. Starter does not engage. I popped the hood, looked in, closed the hood... tried again and the Camry started right up. I can do a few things but my searching has suggested too many things. I need some help to begin troubleshooting. Any help would be great. this is my wife's car so we are sharing one car. THANK YOU!

I had the ignition coil fail with the same symptoms. I could start no problem on a cold engine, get in and drive then it wouldnt start when hot.
I would open the hood - let it cool down - and it would start again. Eventually if it is the coil it will start to hesitate
when driving as I let mine go for along time before replacing it as I was trying to figure out what was going on.
