Question 1996 Auto trans

I have a 1996 wagon. V6.
According to the trans kit chart, the auto trans is the same for 1994 to 2001.
Can anyone verify this?????
I know sometimes the trans model is the same, but they will not interchange due to the computer controls being different.
I've also found that sometimes the 4cly trans is different from the V6, even though the model number is the same.

Yes the same model can have different controls.

Check the chart which has a LOT of info.

The V6 trans want from 2 to 1 speed sensor over time.

Appears 94-96 is same.

Great info.
I'll have to go over it better when I have more time.

The Camry had a new style change from 1996 to 1997.
They said it was a brand new Camry.
I have a 1996 Wagon. I think it was the last year of the wagon.
Anyone know if the auto trans had any changes????
Will the 1997 electronics work in the 1996????

Your generation is 3 (92-96).

Toyota changed from 2 to 1 speed sensors sometime prior to 95.

The issue with the 97+ may be wiring harness plugs.

The basic trans is the same.
