Default 1997 Camry Bosch ABS

I have a 97 Camry with the Bosch ABS controller. The ABS light came on, and I did the test with the jumper wire, and came up with code 12. I pulled the harness apart, and checked as well as cleaned both connection points with CRC lectromotive spray. Needless to say that it didn't fix the issue. I went to a local salvage yard, and got another unit. My question here is, can I just remove the electronic portion of the control unit from one and swap it out without changing the entire unit with the brake lines? I did take one apart in the yard to see what was inside, and it seems like it should be ok..

Toyota has no service info beyond replacing the controller as a unit thus on your own.

However well worth a try to replace just the electric side. Suggest making sure you keep any seals in place to keep out moisture.

I was able to swap out the electrical part of the ABS controller without any issues. The code from that, #12 did go away, but then I got a code #39 from the LR sensor. I will post a picture of the unit taken apart later.
