1997 camry tailight problems
I have a 1997 camry 4 door sedan 4cyl my problem is that the tail light fuse blows and the fix is replacing the headlight switch. after the switch and the fuse is replaced the tail and front park lights work great for about a month. I've checked all the bulb's and light sockets and they all are in good condition the car has auto off on the lights and no day time running lights. I'm on my second headlight switch and would like to fix this once and for all. any ideas??
The tail light fuse should not be blowing, find out what is causing this.
The headlight switch activates the tail light relay which connects power to the tail light fuse. The headlight switch and tail light fuse are two completely different circuits.
Check tail light circuits for shorts. Lights powered by the tail light fuse are front parking, rear tail, rear combo tail/side marker and license plate lights.

To add to toyohomo - check to see if you have any water intrusion into the tail light housing. May be shorting that out. Look for any indications of rust or water presence when you disassemble the tail light housing.
