Just purchased a used 1998 Camry Le and have an issue I would like opinions on. I haven't consulted with anyone yet (just purchased yesterday), but found this forum and thought I'd start here.

My Camry doors open with a key, not a remote. The front passenger door will not open from the outside with the key. It also will not open from the outside, even if the doors have been tripped with the power door lock switch from the driver's side. The only way the door will open is to manually open it from the inside!

Any thoughts?

You will need to remove the door panel and inspect the door lock. There are several rods that move to control the lock. It is possible the end of one rod a come off.
