Default 2002 ac problem

Hey,
I have a 2002 camry. The ac cycles between cold and warm every 30 seconds. I added freon, replaced a relay and replaced the cabin filter a couple of months ago. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to look for now? Thanks.

Not enough info to even guess. Without pressures it's a crap shoot. Why did you think it needed Freon (r134a)? Automatic climate control or manual? Could be evaporator thermistor?? Id' take it to an A/C pro otherwise you're shooting in the dark.

Check to see if FAN # 2 is on (spinning) when you have the A/C on. This will cause the compressor to heat above normal operations and provide poor cooling performance. I replaced the fan motor and it was back to new car A/C again!

Pedro-The ac would not cool.

zcpro-Both fans are turning.

I guess I will have to take it in to a shop. Now when you are idling and the a/c starts the car almost dies. Hopefully its not the compressor.

There is an idle-up when the compressor engages, it may be that. If the compressor is so bad as to cause that kind of drag to the engine I think it would be making some god awful noise. I doubt an 02 would have the compressor go bad unless you ran it low on oil - that would occur from continued leaking then refills without oil.
