Engine will not crank,(not even a click) radio doesn't work, blower motor either. Headlights, interior, warning lights, door locks all work. Battery is Toyota 9 year, only 2 years old and it is fully charged and cables cleaned. Put a jumper pack on, no change. As per Toyota hot line turned key on, off, 3 times and tried to start car, nothing. Even tried the spare Toyota key. New to the forum but not Toyota. Buy new and maintain well. Any ideas?

 

With ign key on does the windshield wiper/washer pump, cig lighter, power outlet work, and ign off dome light?

Toyota security system disables ign system so car will not start, not starter. Does the car have an aftermarket security system?

 

ign off dome light works. They just picked up the car and brought it to their shop (independentant garage so I can't check the wiper group) They think it's a security issue Good information about engine turning over even in security mode. I'll pass that on. The car is bone stock. Doing some reasearch on line I'm wondering if starter selonid is bad.

 

In your opinion would you rule out the security system? Also, I didn't have it towed to the dealer since the nearest one is 40 miles away. Thanks, Joey, for your prompt reply and help.

 

Joey, problem solved. My mechanic found a 100 amp fuse blown. I really appreciate your help and prompt response.

As stated Toyota security system only disables ign system, not starter. There would be a red light on dash blinking. All other items would still work.
