I have 2007 Camry hybrid purchased here in south Florida- having same issue! I am so furious that I was getting the brush - I will be pursuing this with Toyota of Hollywood. I have serviced the car there for along time and was told they knew nothing of this problem which is clearly not the case. If they had known about this and advised me Before the warranty expired something could have been done. If you wish to join in an effort to get them to address this problem let me know.

I think it's a real shame that Toyota is not taking care of their customers. My last conversation with them was that they are aware of the issue but they consider it a warrany issue. In other words, if your vehicle is out of the standard warranty (3 years/36,000 miles), they won't do anything to help. Most of the dashboard issues with these vehicles (mine in particular) didn't start occurring until 4 or 5 years after I had the vehicle. Toyota should be ashamed for not owning up to what is clearly a manufacturer's problem. I have a '96 Camry and waited 10 years before purchasing my '07. If this how Toyota treats it's loyal customers, then this will definitey be the last Toyota ever purchased by me. I will soon start posting videos of my melting, gummy dashboard. I'm curious to see just how many others have this same issue.

It's been a while since my last post but I decided to make a video and post it to youtube. I also posted it on Toyota's facebook page. Someone named Miguel w/Toyota actually responded and said he found my case and was sorry that I didn't agree with Toyota's stance. Here's my video if anyone wants to take a look. Speculating the dash supplier has a defective product for at least years 2006-08.

The link below is TSB for Lexus of those years which assume had the same dash supplier.

Toyota may be denying a problem exists to save repair costs = more profits. If owners keep fighting Toyota may do something. They finally stepped up to 2AZFE engine head bolt thread and oil burning issues.

Well, it seems that they are just letting the time pass and the older your vehicle gets; the more likely they won't go back and cover the repair. I can assure you that any and everyone who owns a Toyota or Lexus with this issue won't be returning to Toyota for their next vehicle. I don't want to but I'm thinking about trying that nomoresticky product and once I repair the dashboard; I might just sell my car and be done with it.

Wow, thanks for sharing that video. I had heard about the melting dash but I had no idea that's what it actually looks like. I guess being in the North East has spared my dash. That is really disappointing that Toyota wants to do nothing about it.
Has Toyota done something about the oil consumption and head bolts on the 2AZFE engine? I just thought there was a TSB.
