Yes, a TSB after many years of stating excess oil consumption was "normal."

And stating owners needed a new block to repair head bolt issues at their expense.

Now Toyota uses use inserts.

Owners have actually had Toyota pay for these repairs which is more then before the TSB.

Ouch, still pretty harsh. And if my engine goes to crap, I don't see them making good on it. Disappointing. So far my '07 is strong and uses very little oil so I will just keep rolling the dice.

Hey guys. just wanted to give you an update to my dashboard situation. After I posted my video on youtube and let it get some views, I posted it to the Toyota USA facebook page. I also sent an email and the video to Toyota's corporate website. I asked that they send the video directly to an executive. Surprisingly, I received a phone call from a lady, who informed me that someone from the executive's office will be contacting me in a couple of days. Sure enough, I was contacted. To make a long story short, I was told that Toyota still has not issued a recall for the issue but because they felt that I was a loyal customer; they offered me $800 to go toward any type of service that I would like to have. If I choose to have my dashboard fixed and later there is a recall, they would reimburse me the difference. I guess that will work for now although I still have bad dashboard. It's a start and we have to keep going until they decide to step up and fix the issue.

Way to go!!! Sucks your dash is still glazed like a doughnut but it is something.
Note to self: Make video when issue arises with car and post on Toyota's FB page.
Thanks for updating us and I'm glad that you got something.

Would like to bring this back up. I am partly handicapped and live in Texas. My 2007 Camry stays in the garage all the time. I noticed the sticky dash a few years ago but thought it was stuff that I put on the dash. I just found out this week (July 2019) that there was a service extension on the dash that ended in May 2017. Toyota in Plano will not do anything for me. Do I have any recourse?

My 2009 That my mom had in Florida has the same issue. The Florida sun toasted it. Also the rear headrests in the back are cooked

I ended up paying my Toyota dealership, about $1200 to replace the dash. I was not pleased.
