We have a 08 Camry 4 cylinder automatic with 37K miles. Recently my wife said it will sometimes idle rough with the ac on and also feel very sluggish on acceleration then be ok for the rest of the day. This happens only at times and not every day. She left it with me today and it did it for me. It idled rough and when I took off it felt like it was in second gear, [ auto trans] Upon stopping and taking off again it didnt do anything wrong after that. The only maintenance Ive done so far are oil changes and recently replaced the air filter and cabin filter. I also run BG products 44K injector cleaner occasionally. I called the dealer and he said he hasnt heard of this problem before. No service light [mil] has ever come on. Anyone ever heard of this?

 

I just got a 07 and did a little research about it after I got it, and I remember a lot of people with same problem, and they said you take it to the dealer and have them reprogram computer, because there is some TSB about it that they don't know about or won't tell you about... you have to already know about how to solve the problem before taking it to dealer. So, search posts to learn more about it...
