2008 Camry Stutters at 40 MPH
Hey guys,
My first post on this forum. I searched around but could not find any answers, please let me know if there is a topic already on this subject.
This is about a 2008 XLE V6 with around 8000 miles. The car is very hesitant till it gets up to 40 mph. At 40 if I let go of the gas pedal, it slows down really fast. I have noticed this problem consistantly at 40 mph. Also, when I approach a light the car cant seem to make up its mind and behaves like a crazy horse slowing and speeding as it slows.
I would like to get any opinions, solutions, try at home remedies (if available) before I take her in. Please let me know if I need to adjust my driving habits, since this is my second car and first being a 99 corolla. I really love the car and would hate for some mechanic to tinker with it only to find out there was nothing wrong with it in the first place.
Thanks
JKO

I would take it to the dealer under warranty with only 8k on the car... don't quote me on this, but you might have the "sealed" transmission that "never" needs the ATF changed, and they might not have filled it to the correct level from the factory... and I would take it in sooner than later...

There is an update to enhance the shift quality and timing of the transmission- but i'm not sure if it goes up to the 08 models. You may already have the latest calibration ID. The Techstream scan tool will alert the technician if there are any updates for you. Lets see what happens.
