Default 2009 Camry need help starting

I'm trying to help my 83 year old neighbor and get her car running. I just don't know that much about these cars. I'm pretty sure its a 2009. It hasnt ran in a few months.

Battery was dead so put a charged one it. Headlights come on, hazards turn on, but nothing else. radio doesnt turn on. Engine wont turn over. When you turn the key you hear a click.

I checked most of the fuses under the hood and they seem fine. What could be the problem or what have i overlooked?

So guys, help?

Start by checking the condition of the connections of the battery cables at the battery. Corrosion (looks like white fuzz) can cause a poor electrical connection.

Remove the cables and clean the battery studs where the cable terminals connect and the holes in the terminals that connect to the studs.

An internet on cleaning battery terminals should produce many hits perhaps with photos or videos.

Take note if the car has a theft system it may be activated when the battery is reconnected thus make sure you can turn it off.

Checked. Everything is getting a nice clean connection.

I think the car does have a theft system in it, but i have no idea how to turn it off, or on. She handed me two car keys both having this black thing with an arm and disarm button. But nothing happens when I press either. And yes i've checked the batteries in them too.

Unless an aftermarket alarm system the Toyota brand will still allow the engine to turn over even if engaged.

You should be able to disarm the system by locking and closing the doors then unlocking the drivers door.

Did you remove and clean the battery cable terminals and posts?
