Default 5sfe engine balancer

We have just had the head off the 5sfe motor and dropped a bolt into the engine balancer.. I now have a new engine balancer

Can anyone help me with the procedure to re-line the motor and install again correctly.

your help is appreciated.

What year of engine?

What happened, did the bolt damage the balancer?

Make sure the number of teeth on the old balancer drive gear is the same as new. The number of teeth changed around 1994.

Some owners have removed the balancer system, very possible. You will NEED to plug the oil lube hole(s) in the block.

The balancer unit is shimmed to the block to obtain the tooth backlash. If you take the unit apart, keep the shims.

Post back with answers to above questions. Can provide help.

I really wish people would follow up...even with pictures. This would have been such a good learning tool for people to understand the difference 'tween US spec and Japan spec engines.
