1988 camry v6, the tanny has only a few months left. the rest of the car is real nice. i like the engine, but the stock trans has really crappy gear ratios. my 91 volvo, which is 1000 pounds heavier, gets to 40mph alot quicker.
since i will be replacing to trans, is there another trans, maybe a lexus, that would be quicker and work with my engine(no mods, i will have a garage put it in)

if not, what should i expect to pay for a rebuilt trans?
