i have a 90 camry that i just had the head gasket replaced.. my mechanic finished the head gasket job, started it up and it rean great didnt over heat any more etc.. he let it run for a while and i think he ran it outta gas... we put fuel in it, started it and it idles but will not take fuel.. it just cuts off when throttle is applied.. he put a fuel pump and new mass air meter and still no results.. any help would be appreciated

 

Are you sure the engine ran out of fuel or stopped for some other reason?

Does your mechanic have the tools to check the fuel pressure at the engine?

 

I dont know if he did that yet.. If its low, what would it be?

 

Plugged fuel filter, bad fuel pressure regulator.
