95 Camry stalled while driving
Hello,
My name is Ashley, my dad bought me a 95 Camry for university and now its not working
Someone backed into the drivers front end yesterday, no internal damage, when I took the car to the collision place it just stalled out! Very weird since I've never had a problem with the car in 2 years.....and somewhat coincidental since someone just hit it (Only exterior damage)
Seems like it might be a fuel related issue? As the collision place had it started for a bit, then it would start again after. Engine seems like its trying to turn over, just doesn't start up.

Could be a coincidence however you are not the first to have engine issues after their car was hit.
The engine does start then it just stalls.
When did the engine quit, while driving or at idle?
Check if the fuel pump is working OK. It runs when the engine is cranking over or running.
The fuel system does not have any safety switch that triggers if the car is hit. However as stated above if the engine is not running or cranking over when starting the pump is off.
If the engine quit at idle there is something called an IAC valve that controls idle. If this is defective or the valve is sticking the engine can be hard to start.
Also check the ign system. A poor spark from a bad ign coil or other ign component can cause hard starting.
Might look for a tie in between the engine problems when determined and the accident in order to have the person who hit you insurance pay. As stated could be a coincidence but you are not the first to have engine issues after being hit.

Thank you very much for replying!
The engine quit after driving.... I ended up getting a mechanic to look at it, said it was the plugs/wire/cap and router. Paid $500 to have it all fixed, and it drove perfectly fine from the mechanics shop to the collision center, then when they tried to move it to the back lot to fix the damages from the driver side impact it started to sputter out again.
Its weird because after fixing the plugs/wires ect... it ran perfectly fine, now it does exactly what it did before. First time it stalled/sputtered out when I was on the highway, this time it was at the shop. Before it was so called fixed, the car wouldn't even start. So I don't know why it would start up and run perfect after the plugs/wires were done, then just die again.
When the guy moved it to the back, he had to really hit the gas while it was turned on.... but the car sounded like it was going to stall out at any moment.
I think im just going to tell the insurance company this is their problem, I can't waste another week and $500 on this again.
Thanks for your reply again

Given the plugs and wires were done could be the ign system is weak. If the distributor and cap were not replaced change these. Could also be the ign coil.
Find another shop as $500 for plugs and wires is too much.
