Default 99 4cyl heater fan switch

My 99 Camry heater will only blow hot air when in position 3 or 4, 1 and 2 have no fan. Hot air will come out if I have the outside air selector active and the car is moving. Could this be the switch or is there a fuse for the low settingson the fan blower?

Thanks!!!

Default RE: 99 4cyl heater fan switch

Your Blower Motor Resistor is dying. It will always work on setting 4 because setting 4 is full power (voltage) while bypasses the blower motor resistor. By the replacement Blower Motor Resistor from your local auto parts store and replace it.

To do so, you have to remove the glove box and locate the old BMR. It's attached to the blower motor assembly. It's close to the firewall.

Good Luck!
