2001 Camry AC/Heater Fan

My fan only has 1 speed still functioning(highest) what are possible problems

well back in "the olden days" there was a rheostat that would go bad and you'd only have one speed. now a days, it might just be the entire switch assembly, could be about a $300 switch too.........
