Bad clutch master cylinder?
#11
I can't get a good clutch pedal and I have been bleeding the slave cylinder several times and the pedal is hard but still drops to the floor. I was looking around and saw some fluid dripping underneath where those 2 lines are connected to on the trans. I pumped the clutch pedal again and I held the pedal with a pry bar and saw the fluid coming out underneath.
The repair manual is it Haynes or Chilton?

Yes, I can use the pdfs and links for manual transmission section showing the accumulator.
Where exactly is the whole clutch accumulator assembly located? Hows does it come off? Is it just the block where the slave and clutch master cylinder lines connects to? And to remove it, disconnect the lines and its bolted on a plate on the transmission?

Using your pictures and
the part picture (says its correct part for 1992-1997 toyota camry )
Toyota Camry 1992-1997
Accumulator Assy Clutch
Toyota Genuine Part part number- CA01305B
and your vehicle is the 97 Camry v6.
I am interested to what you find there
because the repair manual suggest no moving parts
yet you have a leak
another throw away part maybe
that bleeder suggests to me a diaphragm valve so something not serviceable
your picture
undo the brake lines
that big rusted plate bit can be undone .first . looks like held on by. a few bolts
when the plate is clear the screws holding the accumulator can be undone from the back .
. you might be able to sort some thing out
clean up and paint the rusty plate
fit or make a gasket .....and hopefully save some big dollars

I know it was a P I T A .for you to sort all this out
good effort there
That clutch system will be reliable for years to come
my parts link was Australian and possibly new old stock
1997 model and now 2015..18 years past most likely superseded part number

Now I can't get the starter off. The 2 starter bolts are removed and it is frozen to the block. I lightly tapped it with a soft hammer and still won't come off, I don't want to break it by hitting any harder. Any ideas on how to get this starter off?

2004 Camry Clutch Master Cylinder Replacement
Hi,
The car's clutch peddle stuck to the floor some times. I suspect it is the clutch master cylinder.
I want to check the fluid level on the clutch master cylinder. I looked around in the car but cannot locate a separate reservoir for the clutch masted cylinder. Is it the same as the brake fluid reservoir on this car?
This car, a 2004 Camry, has a 4-cylinder 2.4 liter VVT-i engine. The manual says in order to remove the clutch master cylinder, I have to remove the air cleaner, break master cylinder, power brake booster, then finally get to the clutch master cylinder.
I wonder if there is any short cut. At least, I want to disconnect the minimal number of hoses on the break master cylinder. I only saw one rubber hose that connect the break and clutch master cylinders.
