Question Camry 1997 engine noise

Hi,

I have this problem, please read!

I hear a high pitch noise from the engine when is hot at idle RPM.
It started last fall and I was thinking that could be a belt or the water pump.

During the cold Canadian winter that noise was gone but it start again to make noise in the spring.
I've run the engine without accessories belts and the noise was the same.
So I was sure that noise would be from the timing belt assembly and I just fixed every thing there including:
new timing belt, water pump, idler pulley, tensioned pulley, new seals at the oil pump etc.

Guess what ?

The noise is back!
Funny thing is that would make noise only when engine is hot and about 750-800RPM
If I rev up to 1000RPM the noise would fade a way !!!
If I turn of the engine and start over the noise will stop for about 2-3 minutes ...

What can be this?

Thank you for looking into this matter!

What engine type 4 cylinder or V6?

The noise changes with RPM?

You removed all the belts to test including the power steering belt?

Are you sure it is a whine or could it be a leaking vacuum hose?

Thumbs up

It was a loose hose from the Charcoal Canister. Fixed!

Who would guess that a Charcoal Canister can made this tricky noise!

Have a nice day!
