Default Camry 93 model V6 not starting

Hello all,

I have a 93 v6 camry and am having problem starting it. When I try starting the car, its tries to start but it wouldn
't start. It just stop dead. My mechanic said it's the alternator and after I changed the alternator, it still doesn't start.
Am really not a car techie but am willing to learn if that can fix my problem. Please help.

Well first you have to check to see if the problem is fuel or spark? So get youself a can or starting fluid or even carb cleaner and spray a good spritz in the air intake (pop off the filter top so it doesnt go through filter). If the engine now starts for a moment then dies, your problem is fuel because you now know you have spark.
If it doesnt try to start then maybe the problem is fuel. So remove the fuel flter and put a can under the open hose. Have someone crank the engine for 10 seconds or until/unless you see fuel gushing out of this line. If no fuel gushes out at all, then it is probably your fuel pump so change it.
If fuel gushes out before the filter but not after, then change the fuel filter.

If there is no spark, check for bad spark plugs (not likely that all of them are bad though), bad distributor cap and rotor. Or maybe the timing is way off so check that.
