Check engine light, Troubleshooting Code P0446
I have a 2003 4 cyl Camry LE with 140,000 miles. The other day the check engine light turned on for the first time. I took my Camry to AutoZone and got the following OBD code: P0446. Here's the information they gave me:
Definition:
BBEvaporative emission control system vent control
BBcircuit fault0p
Probable cause:
BB1. Open of short circuit condition
BB2. Poor electrical connection
BB3. Faulty CCV vent control solenoid
Any suggestions or help would be great! I'm not sure if I need to take my Camry in for service or if someone can give me suggestions for doing it myself. I've already checked the cap on my gas tank and it's nice and tight.

Joel_CA, thanks for the reply. I was going to try what you suggested, but the check engine light turn off on it's own and has stayed off for a few days now. Any thoughts on why it would do that?

After enough key cycles in which the fault has NOT been redetected- it will shut off the check engine light but continue to store the code as a "history" fault. Disconnecting the battery would erase the history fault as well, but is not necessary since the light is off already. Make sure you tighten the cap after each fill up. All it takes is one time for it to be left loose to trigger the code again.
