Red face Distributor and Timing

Hi - how careful do I need to be with a 95 4cyl camry in removing the entire distributor from
the block? Will this mess up the timing? Does the rotor only go in correct or 180 degrees
out? I guess it spins freely when distributor is removed but can it go back in anyway or just 2 ways? I can see from the bolts and mounting track that the distributor can move
on install for timing adjustment (?). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

distributor only fits one way ,the timing advance or retard must be fine tune using a timing light, but if you mark the location of the distributor before removing any bolts you will be ok .
