The dome light on my car seems awfully dim. I have replaced the bulb and the lamp fixture. Compared to modern cars the light is very dim. Is there a problem in mine or are they all this bad? Is there an aftermarket dome light that is much brighter?

 

Might use a voltmeter to determine if the bulb socket is getting full battery voltage.

Autoparts store may sell a LED type bulb, bring the old one in.
