fixed antenna for '06 Camry?
my rear, motorized antenna was snapped off on my '06 Camry sedan.
I'd prefer to replace it with a short, fixed antenna. I want to keep things simple and don't see the need for a motor driven antenna. I see them posted on eBay and they are inexpensive.
Has anyone done this? How do they attach?
I've looked online and it's not clear that they would attach in a similar fashion to the original.
Thx,
Rob

The manual antenna mounts in the same hole in the chassis as the power antenna.
Disconnect wiring harness from the power antenna and wrap it with electrical tape as the plug will be powered ever time the radio is powered on and off.
Remove the large antenna cable from power antenna and connect it to the manual.
The power antenna also has a drain hose, this allows water the may get into the mast to drain out the car.

well I picked an aftermarket antenna mast from my local Auto Zone that is supposed to fit.
I tried and it does not physically fit correctly plus the antenna connection is bogus. Whatr a waste of money!
Is there a know good fixed antenna out there??
